Vestro UR is a one-component polyurethane conformal coating that protects electronic assemblies against environmental exposure, applied by dip, spray, or brush at a recommended dry-film thickness of 25–75 µm. In its wet state it has a density of 0.95 g/cm³, 44 ± 2% solids, an amber color, a flash point of –1 °C, and a tack-free time of about 15 minutes; after full cure — 30 days at room temperature, or 24 hours at 85–90 °C for accelerated cure — it forms a clear, smooth, glossy film with dielectric strength above 150 kV/mm, insulation resistance of 1.6×10¹⁰ Ω, volume resistivity above 1×10¹⁴ Ω·m, and an operating range from –65 °C to +125 °C, alongside good chemical resistance. A built-in UV fluorescence lets inspectors visually verify coating coverage under ultraviolet light, and viscosity can be adjusted for dip, spray, or brush application using the companion thinner, Vestro 1P — a 1:1 starting ratio by weight is recommended for spraying, adjusted to the process at hand, and a VZ-246 viscometer is recommended for viscosity checks. Boards must be clean and dry before coating, since contamination affects adhesion and curing. Vestro UR is flammable and should be stored between 0 °C and +35 °C in tightly sealed, gas-tight original packaging away from heat, sparks, and open flame; shelf life at room temperature is 24 months.
