Fuzan 742-F is a water-based, VOC-free wave soldering flux with 5.76% solids, classified ORL0 under J-STD-004A, designed for lead-free, mixed-technology, and SnPb through-hole assembly. Because it is non-flammable with no flash point, it requires no special fire-safety storage measures, and it does not need frequent acid-number monitoring, thanks to its stable water-based chemistry (diluted with deionized water if required). Applied via ultrasonic sprayer, it achieves excellent surface wetting through a wide process window, giving strong results on hard-to-solder assemblies while minimizing solder balling; documented IPC-B-24/B-25A and Telcordia GR-78 surface-insulation-resistance testing confirms electrically clean, reliable residues. Board preheat of 110–135 °C and wave contact of up to 5 seconds are recommended, with an initial flux deposit target of 1000–1500 µg/in². The flux can freeze below 0 °C without any effect on performance — simply thaw at room temperature and stir before use. Shelf life is 18 months from the date of manufacture, with no cleaning step required after soldering.
