1959 – The company which was then called Avicenna* was founded by the late Dr. Hashemi in a modest factory built in the heart of Tehran to manufacture a limited number of Pharmaceutical products under specific brand names. *(Avicenna was a Persian polymath which wrote a number of treaties some of which was concentrated on medicine).
1980 - Due to our business expansion and needs for a larger premises, the existing site located in an industrial estate near Tehran was purchased to accommodate a modern and growing pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The site is home to some latest equipment in pharmaceutical production including bottling, blister packaging, powder and liquid filling as well as a fully computerized logistic and warehousing facility.
1983 – The Latin name Avicenna was change to its equivalent Persian name of Pursina to reflect its true Persian identity.
1992 – The company added herbal medicines to its range of pharmaceutical products.
Current- Pursina is one of the leading pharmaceutical manufacturers in Iran. The company has close collaborations with some Iranian universities and research centres and manufacturers a vast number of pharmaceutical products according to Iran’s Food and Drug organisation’s strict guidance.
